....is Apple Cider Sangria

This weekend, for a bridal shower, I made this delicious beverage (well I pre-made a batch two weeks ago, for quality control). Apple Cider Sangria tastes like Autumn in a glass, well spiced and wonderful. A little honey can be used to slightly sweeten the Sangria but most of the sweetness will come from the Fruit and the Cider. I added honey to the trial batch but not the one I made for the shower. The other sweet addition to this is the brown Sugar & Cinnamon on the rim of the glass.

2 Apples, Sliced
3 Pears, Sliced
6 Cups Dry White Wine  (1-1/2 Bottles)
4 Cups Apple Cider
1/2 Cup Brandy
1/2 Cup Orange Juice
1 tsp Cinnamon
1/2 tsp Fresh Nutmeg
1/4 tsp Cloves
1/4 tsp Allspice
Brown Sugar & Cinnamon (to line the rim of the glass)

Slice the Fruit, soak in White Wine will you cut the fruit, it will slow the fruit from turning brown. Add Cider, Brandy, Orange Juice & Spices. Allow the Sangria to sit over night (or a minimum of 3 hours). Before serving dip the edge of the glass into the Sangria and press into the Brown Sugar & Cinnamon.

Other treats from Bridal Shower:
Quinoa & Fresh Vegetable Salad, Fruit & Cheese Plate

Sandwiches: Roasted Vegetable & Goat Cheese, Roast Beef & Garlic Aioli

Happy Sipping!
